Squishy: House-free paths

Kid Cat is gone and my path is finally 100% house free!

Next Saturday is Weeding Day. Its kind of weird how its a day after America's weeding day.

I met Rosie at ReTail. Clearly she doesn't come here often.

Jeremiah invited me over to his pad. Its not as good as Flo but its still kind of cool.

I went to the island to see if a certain item was there (it wasn't). But I did get reminded that adulthood sucks.

Back at the mainland Pietro told me that Rosie and Flurry are mad at each other. They were probably fighting over who is the cutest villager.

I then switched to Joy so that I could fix my paths.

Thank you for reading and have a good Earth Day if you live in America.

Squishy: Why Y?

Yesterday was Kid Cat's last day in town. Goodbye buddy, you were a cool cat.

Even though I have the gold axe (and Bunny Day is over) I'm still buying saplings along with my daily fertilizer. The trees make Cosmic look more alive.

I decided to start making more money. Since I couldn't be bothered doing any major money making tricks, I settled for the old fashioned way and sold some fruit. I keep going to press Y instead of A to shake the trees. I must be playing too much Harvest Moon DS.

Speaking of money, hehehe.Buy my overpriced gems you fools!

I also gathered some perfect oranges for my next smuggling session.

Thank you for reading and have a good day.

Beth: Repeating Dialogue

Hi everyone! We have a lot to catch up on as I've been focusing on other games and the Nintendo Direct for my past couple of posts.

Last week, Jeff brought me some pink roses for Acorn!

Jeff made me laugh when he switched into a design :P

A couple of days later, Julian asked me if he could move out. I refused, as I like having him around!

While walking around town, Chai asked me to deliver a parcel to Julian. He was a little rude in his reply :P

I visited my friend Jodie in real life - and I headed over to her town of Crossing for a bit.

I saw Chelsea while I was there. Jodie got her from one of my Sanrio cards, so it's nice to go and visit her!

Back in Acorn - I tested something out. Did you know that jellyfish don't sting you while you're performing an emotion?

On the last day of the cherry blossom, I took a lot of photos around town.

Up in the campground, we had a choice of chairs for sale :P I will chair-ish this moment.

A day or two later, something strange happened. Not only did Chai ask me to deliver another package to Julian, I also received the same dialogue from both of them. Julian told me exactly the same thing about Chai's wrapping! I don't think I've ever seen that happen before in my 4 years of playing the game.

Walker asked me for some fruit - but the way he asked seemed a little weird. Although, I guess my hands are probably easier to pick fruit with than his :P

The other day, I took part in Bunny Day! This Easter celebration means you collect 6 different types of eggs around town.

Once you have collected all of the eggs, you can eat them to reveal candy or prize tickets. I quickly received a grand prize ticket and in turn, Zipper's pic.

Even with digging up many dig spots, I still managed to fall in the pitfall of the day :P

You can also receive the egg basket from giving Zipper 6 different types of eggs.

If you are for any reason doing Bunny Day now, or want a guide for next year - check out this one from Jeff's site!

While collecting deep sea eggs, I found some things to donate to the museum.

I tried to see how much eggs are worth by selling them, but it turns out I think I'm better selling the furniture instead :P

Thanks for reading!

Squishy's thoughts on Harvest Moon DS (after 10 years)

I've been playing Harvest Moon type games since I was a little girl. The first Harvest Moon I've ever played was Harvest Moon DS. Since I was so young I had no clue what I was doing. Since I finished every farming game after that (plus I had a Harvest Moon craving), I decided to play this one again and talk about it. I played the game for about 15 hours in one week (yeah, I got addicted).

You start by giving your character a name and birthday. Then you name your cat and dog. Since it only allows 6 letters I was called Squish for the whole game.

The game starts with the Harvest Goddess and the Witch Princess fighting. This later causes the goddess and the 101 Harvest Sprites to be sent to another world. It was up to me (the player) to find them all. This story is okay but most Harvest Moon games before didn't have much story.

The gameplay is the same aa Friends of Mineral Town (along with some of the same characters). Even after playing games like Story of Seasons I can say that the old ways are still my favourite. The character's movements are a lot quicker and get the job done.

The game is everything I remember it being, except for the grammar mistakes. I guess when your 7-8 years old you don't notice them but as an adult you do. They don't affect the game but they are fun to laugh at (some of them can be found on my Twitter)

Overall it was a nice trip down memory with some grammar humour. If you played other farming games I highly recommend giving this one a try. Thank you for reading and have a good week.

Squishy: Bunny Day

Yesterday while playing I noticed that the plaza tree is now green again (along with the other normal trees).

Kid Cat confronted me about moving on the 18th. I decided to let him go. He's a cool villager but I need to see some new faces (or helmets) around town.

Today in town was Bunny Day (or Easter in the real world).

The goal for this event is to collect six different types of eggs for Zipper T -Creepy- Bunny.

The six type of eggs can be found in trees (this is why I've been planting trees for the last month),

in rocks,

under gro- excuse me fossil!

There we go! Under ground,

In the water pretending to be fish,

In the skies

and underwater as a sea creature.

You will need a shovel, fishing rod, slingshot, wet suit and a few trees in order to get an egg basket.

The eggs can also be eaten and you can find tickets inside to get egg furniture. I spent an hour finding as many eggs as possible so that I could sell the furniture.

You can also get grand-prize tickets which are basically nightmares in picture frames.

Sky eggs, water eggs and ocean eggs (can't remember the proper name off the top of my head) are unlimited while the tree eggs, rock eggs and earth eggs are limited to only a few per character.

Camofrog doesn't understand the spirit of Easter

I also got a lot of candy. I guess I'm sorted for Halloween.

Before I saved and quit my game, I decided to annoy Zipper a little bit.

Thank you for reading. Have a great Easter and don't eat as much chocolate as my character had.
