Wasn't gonna miss this for the world!
Three years is a weird number. It doesn't have the novelty of being the first, or for being right behind the first as the second. But the third blogiversary still sounds cool! Instead of going on about my experience blogging (since I haven't actively been here since January), I'm gonna talk about what I learnt in college that will make future posts a little more interesting. I'll also be talking about why I was gone for nearly six months.
So I'm studying Journalism. Of course I'm not gonna state where or what level I'm at in my studies, but it has really kept me busy and has granted me some newfound skills I can use in my blog posts (and other online creations). Along with the boring (but extremely important) stuff like laws, I learnt how to better lay out posts. This means that walls of text will look more like decorative halls you see near cute cafes, rather than a boring brick one (I don't know where I'm going with this one). I also learnt a lot about video editing and now have a bit of a passion in it.
Now for why I haven't been posting. Over the last few months, I've achieved so much in my online life in other communities. The Waioware DIY server that I originally made for fun is getting quite popular. We're really close to 100 members and the community has reached a lot of new heights. I look at the place and think "What happened?". You can join the Warioware DIY Discord server here! We also went a little crazy back in April for the game's tenth anniversary. Fun times!
Next are the Warioware covers themselves. Over the last few weeks or so, I've managed to improve the audio quality of them. This made posting them a lot more fun and making them has been a blast! Feel free to subscribe to me for covers three days per week (during July and August, it will be four times per week). I have been really determined to reach my New Year's Resolution of 750 subs and I'm a little over halfway there.
Lastly, I'm working on a few secret projects, but you'll just have to wait and see on those.
I'd like to thank the Warioware DIY Discord server for being such an amazing community, everyone who has liked, commented, subbed and shared my Youtube channel and especially the wiewers of this blog, not just for reading, but also for sticking around for my return for almost half a year. Thank you so much and I have a lot planned for the rest of the year!

E3 2019 Wishes and Predictions
Hello everyone, long time no see. I have been really busy with schoolwork and other things, but now I’m back with my E3 2019 wishes and predictions! So let’s get started!
Predictions
First of all, I strongly think that Animal Crossing Switch will show up. We have 40 minutes of the Direct to work with, but I think we’ll only get 3-5 minutes of Animal Crossing (and maybe the gameplay). I’d say we will either get a September or December release (most likely December, though my birthday is in September, wink wink). The only reason I could see it being delayed is if there was a way to connect the Switch game to Pocket Camp, but they remove it because of Belgium’s micro-transaction laws (and losing Pocket Camp in the process). I don’t see Nintendo wanting to leave an entire country at a disadvantage and missing out on content, so they could delay it to balance things out.
Next is Smash. I don’t think we will get the overflow of Smash we got last year (thank goodness), but Sakarui did say the second fighter would be announced. At this point, I’m not really rooting for particular characters, but I see a lot of people speculating a Microsoft character (and rightfully so with their current E3 behaviour).
With other stuff, we will see a bit of Luigi’s Mansion 3 and the Link’s Awakening remake, since Nintendo themselves mentioned that. Maybe they will talk about possible DLC for Super Mario Maker 2 since that released shortly. I also predict at least one surprise.
Wishes
Now we get to the weird stuff I want. Brace yourself!
First I really want Pikmin 4. I’ve never played a Pikmin game and I really want to, so I can’t help but root for it to happen. It’s even been confirmed, we just want to see something. Next is Mother 3. I know, I know, but this is the PERFECT time for it! Year of the Pig/Boar and it’s Mother 3’s 15th anniversary this year. The internet would explode!
So those are my thoughts, what about yours? Feel free to mention them in the comments and I’ll see you back here again!

Top games that (I think) should make it on the Switch
The Switch has been around for a year and a half so far. There are already a lot of awesome games out for it and even more coming. But I think there are a few more they could add that I think would be perfect for the Switch. So here are my ideas for possible Switch games.
Boom/Fortune Street
Remember that monopoly type game for the Wii that had Mario and Dragon Quest characters in it? Well I think it would be perfect for the Switch. The only buttons needed to play it are the buttons on a Wii Romote, so a Joy Con would work perfectly! Just bringing a set of Joy Con means you can always play it with someone, no matter what. Plus, imagine we got Zelda or Kirby characters for the next worldwide instalment. Yes please!
Portal and Portal 2
Yeah having two is kinda cheating, but who wouldn’t want a portable portal? Playing with two Joy Con and the HD rumble would be perfect! You can’t have one and not the other after all!
Mario Paint
I’m personally more of a Warioware DIY person when it comes to making stuff (especially music), but Mario Paint is more popular. Since unlike the SNES, the Switch has online, this could mean having a database to share music and other things. Since the Switch has a video recording feature, it would also make posting them on other social media sites easier. Plus, with the Labo wheels can (sort of) work in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, then the Labo piano could work in a Switch version of Mario Paint!
Samba De Amigo
Two Joy Cons? Motion Controls? HD Rumble? We have maracas! Samba De Amigo is another Wii game that would be perfect for Switch because of the lack of buttons needed and motion controls. Imagine being able to feel the beads/rice/stuff rattling around near the palms of your hands. It would be awesome!
Well those are the ideas that come to mind. If you have other ideas, feel free to let me know. Thanks for reading!

November Update!
Hello everyone! Its been a while since I've last posted here. I have been active on Twitter and Youtube, but because of college and a lot of other things, the blog kind of fell through the cracks. I appriate everyone who has been reading older blog entries while I was gone. I had a lot of time to think of what I'm going to do next and stuff, so I'm going to talk about that.
Schedule and Dates
Back in September, I mentioned that since I will be starting college, I might have to review the current schedule and change it in October. One October later I was inactive, so I guess I'll call this my 2018 schedule. I'm going to just fiddle around with posting adtes and see how I go, trying my best to stick to the older schedule
Monday - New Leaf or Miitopia
Wednesday - Miitopia
Friday - New Leaf or Miitopia
Sunday - Miitopia
Again for things such as Directs, streams, events and other one off type things, that will replace a New Leaf or Miitopia instead. I will post other stuff like new series and stuff randomly.
Next of all, I'm gonna try going for Squishmas again in December. For those who don't know, Squishmas is where I post something Christmas/winter themed every year on the last 12 days before Christmas. It usually ends with New Leaf's Toy Day on the 24th and the rest of December off blogging. I wanna try and incorporate my Warioware DIY covers into this year's Squishmas. So if anyone has any ideas for Christmas/Winter song ideas feel free to mention them.
Youtube and other Social Media
Like I said before, I have been active on Twitter and Youtube. Twitter is the best place to find out if I'm not posting (unless I don't say anything for a personal reason or something). You can follow me on Twitter here!
As for Youtube, thank you so much for over 100 subscribers. My original goal was to reach that by the end of December. Not only did we pass that two months earlie, but we are still going. I'm really happy about it. You can find my Youtube channel here! Feel free to subscribe if you haven't yet!
Other Stuff
Might be too soon to talk about this but as we all know, Animal Crossing is coming to the Nintendo Switch next year (unless its delayed or something). I will be posting about it here once it releases (maybe not at launch depending on when it comes out). However, due to what my life is looking like for the next few years, I will be ending New Leaf once I start making content on the Switch game. So realistically, we have under a year left of it. If there is anything that you think I should do in New Leaf's final months, feel free to let me know. I do want to play online more, visit more dream towns and complete my own town to a good standard before I finish. But is there anything else I could/should do?
Thank you so much for sticking around despite me not really doing the same. I look forward to the next few months and next year.

Squishy’s thoughts on the November Smash Direct
So yesterday, Nintendo had their last pre-release Nintendo Direct for Super Smash Bros Ultimate, where we got shown that mode that was blurred out, the remaining characters and more. So here are my thoughts on the Super Smash Bros Ultimate Nintendo Direct!
Let’s start with the layout of the Direct overall. The beginning and end were perfect! However, the middle felt very wordy with Sakarai rambling about a lot of the features. Sure, it was stuff we need to know about the game and I appreciate the enthusiasm, but it really made it feel like the end of the E3 presentation where it just went on and on.
Next are the characters. I wasn’t waiting for any in particular, but was glad to see the Sun/Moon Pokemon Incineroar (did I spell that right?) show up, since every game has at least one new Pokemon. We also got Ken from Street Fighter as an Echo fighter for Ryu, which a lot of people were happy about. Sakarai also announced DLC characters, the first one being Pirhrana Plant. Yep, I’m not joking. A potted plant beat Waluigi. I was laughing my butt off the whole time. I didn’t buy DLC for Smash 4, but I might have to this time.
The last thing that really stuck out to me was the story/adventure mode. So what happens is that all of the characters turn into spirits, except Kirby because of course. It’s up to him to rescuer the other characters. Also THE OPENING THEME HAS LYRICS! And they aren’t in Latin! (not that Latin sucks or anything). The song is amazing and I got teary listening to it.
Really the only thing I’m disappointed about is the lack of trophies, but that’s for a valid reason. Overall though, it was a good Direct and I’m looking forward to the game (and maining Isabelle because I have an Amiibo lol) Thanks for reading and have a good day!

Squishy’s thoughts on the September 2018 Nintendo Direct
IT HAPPENED! IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED!!!
So last night/yesterday we had the September Nintendo Direct, and oh boy was it eventful. So here are my thoughts on it!
The Direct started with Luigi exploring a haunted mansion, but not just any mansion, one that’s gonna be explored in Luigi’s Mansion 3! I’ve only played an hour of Dark Moon, but it’s nice to have all three games on the newest systems. Also, the remake of the first game is coming out in time for Halloween, on the 19th October.
Next are some of the next remakes coming to the 3DS. We got a release date for Bowser’s Inside Story (25th January). That’s my favourite Mario and Luigi so I look forward to that. There’s also Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn, which is extremely random. I loved that game to pieces, but it came out of left field. It’s gonna have extra stuff and release in 2019. I love how the 3DS is still alive, but it doesn’t look like for long since it’s just ports.
Next is the Switch, which blew me away. The one thing I found extremely weird and slightly pointless is the port of (ahem) New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe (quite a mouthful). The fact that it still has U in the name throws me off a little. Plus, what on earth is Peachette? Is Toadette secretly a Mushroom Kingdom version of Sailor Moon or something? But a moment of silence to Blue Toad... Well this will release on the 11th January.
I don’t care for the paid online anymore and won’t be getting it until a certain 2019 game that they announced during the Direct is released. Moving on
Then they announced some more games that are coming to Switch. Some shocking titles like Katamari, Civalization VI and a bunch of Final Fantasy games. It’s so weird to have this kind of stuff on Nintendo consoles. I’ve always wanted to try some Final Fantasy games and Katamari. I do own Civalization 3 and 4, so now feels like a good time to actually try playing them. My mind is blown!
In between all that, there were a few more first party games, like Super Mario Party (5th October baby!) and Yoshi’sFlipping Crafted World (Spring 2019). I’m so hyped for these! I’ve been so excited for a good Mario Party and I loved Yoshi’s Woolly World, so these are up my alley.
The last thing that they announced was a rollercoaster of emotions. First they showed Isabelle and I thought “Animal Crossing Switch”. Then Pete gave her the Smash invitation and I was slightly disappointed, but so happy for Isabelle. After the Smash trailer, Tom Nook showed up pulling an “I’ve been expecting you” and my mind went to “Tom Nook is an Echo fighter!?”. Nope. BANG! We got our Animal Crossing Switch announcement! YESSS!!! It’s coming 2019!
Overall, I could say this is the best Direct ever just because of Animal Crossing, but I won’t let it cloud my judgements. It was a pretty solid Direct. A lot of cool things were announced, we had a good balance of ports, games we already know and some outlandish ones. Even if the Online segment and NSMBU Deluxe was kinda meh. Thank you for reading and what did you all think of the Direct?

September-October blog schedule, Warioware and podcast explained
Its that time of year again where school begins and I need to start looking into changing the schedule. There will be a few changes in my life that might affect blogging, so this is an update. I’ll also be bringing up some other things, like exact days for Warioware covers and the explanation about the disappearance of my podcast. That will all be explained here!
So for the blog. Since I’m starting college midway through September, I decided to keep posting days the same as usual (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday), but will be having more leeway with what content goes up on what days. For example, I might post something Miitopia on a day that would usually be for New Leaf, or something like that. The blog days will be looked over again at the end of the month once I get a clear idea of my college schedule and workload.
Next is Warioware DIY music covers/remixes. First of all, thank you so much for nearly 80 subscribers! It doesn’t look like much, but that’s enough people to fill a rollercoaster! I really appreciate the support for my covers. If you haven’t been on my YouTube channel or haven’t heard any of my covers yet, you can find it here! So for the Warioware schedule in September, I decided to post them on Tuesdays and some Saturdays. I’ve been posting them pretty much randomly and want some order in when I post them.
Lastly is my podcast. Yep! The thing that I haven’t done much with after three episodes since May. I mentioned the reason once on my Twitter and just left it at that, but I figured that I’d bring it up here too. Around the time I started the podcast, I’ve been getting worse in social situations. It has nothing to do with the podcast itself, but I do tend to overthink a lot about everything. I’m a bit of a perfectionist as well so if something can’t go right I freak out. Due to getting worse in social situations, I started stumbling over my words or even stuttering whenever I’m nervous or having a panic attack. That also explains the lack of blog posts sometime around July-August. I started getting scared of what other people think of me and putting people on imaginary pedestals where they are perfect people, while I watched from the ground wanting to be perfect too. I need to build up my self esteem and confidence, but also need to improve on my social skills a lot.
So throughout the next month or two, I’m going to work on starting up the podcast again, but mainly for my improvement and because I enjoy it. It will still be on Saturdays but not every week. The non-podcast Saturdays will be handed over to Warioware covers. Podcasts are also posted on my YouTube Channel.
So for a recap, Here’s what the schedule looks like for everything!
Monday - Blog: New Leaf/Other
Tuesday - Youtube: Warioware
Wednesday - Blog: Miitopia/Other
Thursday -
Friday - Blog: New Leaf/Other
Saturday - Youtube: Podcast/Warioware
Sunday - Blog: Miitopia/Other
(Posts may be shuffled when needed)
Thank you so much for reading and I’ll be back with a future update at the end of September!

Squishy's thoughts on the Smash Bros Direct 2018
OMG THEY KILLED LUIGI! NOOOOO!!! He's okay...
A couple of days ago, a Smash Bros direct went live (like the large chunk of E3 wasn't enough for Smash). I watched it and decided to give my thoughts. So here we go.
So they started off with a character reveal trailer. Due to leaks, I knew they announced Simon from Castlevania. Cool! A lot of people wanted him in and its cool to see a character who mainly uses a whip. What I wasn;t expecting was the addition of his brother, Ritcher as an Echo fighter. That was awesome so we ended up with two for the price of one! Great start and glad they didn't leak Ritcher too.Luigi's resting place Dracula's castle was also announced to be a stage. It looks really nice. Happy with this, even though I'm clueless about Castlevania.
Next they showed us two more Echo fighters. Dak Samus and Chrom! Maybe its because I've never played a Metroid game, but I don't know why they put in Dark Samus. Sure they did it for Pit and Dark Pit, but he/she/they feel more like a palette swap then a different character that got the Echo treatment. Chrom on the otter hand, I'm so happy about. I'm actually proud that he went from this...
To this...
Our little Chrom is growing up so fast!
Next, they started going on about other things such as stages, music, modes and the menu design (with a blurred out part). 900 SONGS! AND the music can be picked by series instead of by stage? That's awesome! Time to play the loudest songs in the most lighthearted levels! I like that you can listen to the music in portable mode with the screen turned off, but I don't know if I'll use it. Awesome that its there though.
They ended the Direct off with another character reveal trailer. They started off by showing off images of characters fighting their corresponding villains (which by the way, I want posters off). Then it goes to DK and Diddy. Yo guessed it, they actually added King K Rool! What a time to be alive!
Overall, I think Sakurai deserves a long break. He's seriously giving us everyone we've asked for over the years. This is already one of the best Super Smash Bros games in history. Thank you for reading and have a good weekemd!

Squishy’s thoughts on Q Con 2018
So I went to Q Con for my third year in a row, with this being the second time I spent a whole weekend there and the second year I cosplayed. So here are my thoughts on Q Con 2018!
Friday
So on Friday I cosplayed as Fawful from the Mario and Luigi series. I did a mixture of his Superstar Saga and Bowser’s Inside Story appearances. I enjoyed it until I started feeling really warm. It wasn’t the Con’s fault but I ended up removing the mask and cloak after an hour. Lesson learned; cosplay as humans in hotter weather.
So back to Q Con! I just spent time getting used to the place like I do every year, bought a few things in Artist Alley and went to see the Irish Video Game Orchestra’s evening concert. It was a chill first day and I loved the concert. They played songs from Mario, Zelda, a medley of some Studio Ghibli music and even the opera from Final Fantasy 6! I’ll be uploading some stuff from the concert on my YouTube channel over the next few days to a week.
Slightly off topic, but I love how well the conductor, Robert Martin handled the kids there. He was interacting with them and I love people who can put attention on the kids (and parents) in a positive way. Awesome dude!
Saturday
On Saturday, I just walked around in my grape striped shirt that I own in real life. There were plenty of events but I passed them up simply because I was having a good time with the people around me and the little things on offer. I went to The Space (the game room) every now and then to take a breather and check Streetpasses, then be on my way.
There were a few people having a mini dancing session and people would just randomly join (and no one cared). It was also the type of community where you could leave your bag or coat and 99% of the time, no one would touch it (and if someone did, they would get called out by the 99%). I feel so fortunate to be involved in such a loving community where we can be so carefree and kind to each other. I wish the rest of the world could be like the Q Con community!
I also got a few photos of some awesome cosplayers. Two of my favourites was one of Heather Chandler from Heathers The Musical and another of the Masked Man From Mother 3 (I made his day by recognizing him). Here are a few photos of my favorites!
Sunday
On Sunday, I was going to encore my Jeff cosplay from last year, but the weather was just too warm, so I went as my villager again!
I did something new that was set up over the weekend. They had a replica of The Iron Throne from the books and TV show “Game of Thrones” set up and they had some photographers there to take professional photos with swords, dragon eggs and even Joffery’s crown. My mum and I (my mum’s a fan of GoT, she was not passing it up) went in and got our photos done. They even do group photos for free if everyone in the group pays for a photo. I’m clueless about Game of Thrones (it’s something I need to get on with) so it was more of a novelty. Here is a photo of me with a sword and crown!
This was the first year I stayed for the closing ceremony, since it’s the last time Q Con will take place in this particular venue (RIP Student Union). It started with some speeches from the volunteers, some Thank yous, then it ended with some live music from the Irish Video Game Orchestra and a slightly new musician called Rustage. He’s a rapper from England who makes music about nerdy things, such as Overwatch, Dungeons and Dragons and Avatar. He was amazing! I will be posting some of his music on my channel along with the Orchestra’s music.
I got quite a bit from Artist Alley. The usual posters, plushies and keychains. It’s the only place I can get cool nerdy stuff without the expensive post and packaging!
Overall, I had a blast at Q Con and I really look forward to next year in the new venue, especially since I have irl friends going too next year. Time to start thinking of (human) cosplay ideas. Thank you for reading

Squishy’s thoughts on E3 2018
So E3 came and went (and still no Animal Crossing haha). Seriously though, I’m here to tell you all my thoughts on Nintendo’s E3 presentation. I’m just gonna say quickly that the intro was adorable with the Joy Cons spinning around and stuff! Okay I’ll get serious now!
The first thing that was shown I cared about was Super Mario Party and they finally got rid of that stupid car. YES!!! This was on my wishlist so I’m glad that we got it. I don’t care for some of the gimmicky mini games like the ones with the Switch in tabletop mode. I’m just glad to see the traditional formula back!
Next is the Untitled Fore Emblem game, or should I say “Fire Emblem Three Houses”. The game looks incredible and the music is just beautiful. People are already making instrumental covers of it on Youtube it’s that good. Sucks that it’s been delayed but I don’t care if we are getting something so we’ll crafted. I love how Nintendo is putting more thought into translating Fire Emblem lately. Fates was good, but the English version of “Lost in Thoughts All Alone” was a little messy compared to the Direct Japanese translation of the lyrics. They are improving from that and I can see that through Echos and Three Houses. I’m so excited!
Fortnite is on Switch now, which has been rumoured. Cool for those who were really wanting it. I sucked at Splatoon so I might suck at this too. Yeah this is a bad comparison but I’m just not good with guns and real life players. I’ll see how I go.
Lastly (or should I say half way through the presentation), they moved on to Super Smash Bros Ultimate. I’m not joking! We had 15 minutes of everything else, then Smash took up nearly half an hour. I like Smash as much as the next person but it was sooooo looooong... I shouldn’t be able to go to the bathroom and get a drink, only to come back to the same thing (unless it’s a game specific Direct). For the game itself, I’m glad we are getting everyone back, along with RIDLEY and... Daisy? Either way it’s gonna be the holiday game this year.
Overall I found this E3 to be okay. It was a shame to not hear about the new Yoshi game (Nintendo seems to like abandoning Yoshi games) but we did get some cool stuff in the first 15 minutes. At first, I was most excited for Smash but since we all pretty much know everything about the game, my winner will have to be Super Mario Party. Thank you for reading and what did you all think of E3?

Cosmic Acorn's 2nd Blogiversary
So the blog is now 2 years old. This is really weird, but also kinda awesome! Since I've already told you the story of how it all started last year, I'm going to talk about some of my favorite posts, along with things like country stats like last time and other little things.
Look Back
I did a lot of experimentation this year, since I ended up with full reign (again) on the blog. Other games popped up a lot more besides Animal Crossing like Stardew Valley, Miitopia (which is still going) and even Virtual Reality at one point (thanks high school). I've gotten a lot better at covering certain events like E3, Directs, Q Cons (going again next weekend by the way) and a concert from the Irish Video Game Orchestra! I even tried out Squishmas for the first time last December, which was an idea that I wanted to do since the beginning, but didn't have the courage to do. Glad I did it! I've also gotten a lot better at planning ahead for certain situations (like that internet plague back in April and also almost June).
I created a Facebook page, along with reviving my Tumblr account. I even made business cards to hand out at Q Con! Seems weird and kind of random but they look cool!
Of course, I'm far from perfect. I kinda just went from being comepletely new to blogging, to being slightly less new to it lol. I could have done better with my Stardew Valley series. I didn't have an SD card at the time and was taking potato quality photos from my phone. At least now if the Switch version gets updated and if I start another series, I'm more prepared.
Shout Outs
Similar to last year, here are the top ten countries that read the blog thoughout the last two years! This year they are;

Hi Kenya all alone!
A shout out to everyone I mentioned last year who have continued their support. Also a thank you to Q Con for simply being awesome and for encouraging me to try blogging about new things. The same for the Irish Video Game Orchestra. They are both the closest to nerdy things I can do in real life and have been a huge inspiration. Keep it up guys!
And again, a huge thank you for everyone who reads the blog, whether you do it everyday or only once. It all really means a lot to me. Here are a few memories from the last year;
Thank you for reading and here's to another year!

Squishy's E3 2018 Thoughts and Predictions
Its that time of the year again where the gaming community asks for stuff like kids on Christmas (then either get blown away or severely disappointed). So like I do every year, I'm going to go over what I think Nintendo will show us, along with a slightly unrealistic wish-list. Sp lets get started!
What I think will show up
The 3DS probably won't show up much, similar to last year (unless I have to eat my words again like that last Direct). The only reason I could see it getting any focus is if the Bowser's Inside Story remake is being shown, which probably won't.
The main focus will really be on the Switch. Since Super Smash Bros for Switch will be there and playable, I'm pretty sure they will announce at least one other new character to the roster. Maybe even more? Who knows! We have Metroid Prime 4 and the Untitled Fire Emblem game that are planned for release this year, but nothing has been shown about them. I can see them making an appearance, especially Metroid.
We will more than likely get something from Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eeeve and also that new Yoshi game in development. Maybe even an actual title for the Yoshi game. Lastly, we will probably get a teaser for the next big Switch game for 2019. This could be one of three as these are the only big Nintendo franchises that haven't made any appearance to the Switch (and that actually have a standing chance of it, sorry F Zero). Those are;
- Pikmin - A lot of people (including myself) thought the Metroid Prime 4 teaser was about Pikmin, since it showed outer space at first. Even a Pikmin 3 port would be nice, as annoying as the ports are for some people.
- Star Fox - Yeah, Star Fox Zero was a total flop, but a lot of Wii U games were and a lot of the franchises that flopped on Wii U got better on Switch, so there's a chance
- Animal Crossing - This is the biggest out of the three mentioned (and its probably getting old coming from me lol). But its been 6.5 years since a main Animal Crossing game released in Japan. Give the people what we want!
Every Animal Crossing fan for the last 3 years
The Unrealistic Stuff
Here is where the wish-list comes in. This is the stuff that probably won't happen, but a nerd can dream, right?
First of all, I would love some better Super Mario Odyssey DLC. Sure, the costumes are nice but I want some more kingdoms. Maybe Delfino Plaza or the Comet Observatory (there are better places in Galaxy, but this place doesn't require all that gravity stuff).
While on the topic of Mario, I would love either a new Paper Mario or a new Mario Party (without those stupid cars). I've only played Super Paper Mario (didn't mind) and Sticker Star (yuck). I've always wanted to try a "true" Paper Mario game (I have the original on Wii U but haven't touched it yet) but a new one would be awesome. Mario Party is the same. I've played DS, 8 and a little bit of 2. A better Mario Party would be amazing (plus, two Joy Cons next to each other look like the number 11)
One game that I really enjoyed lately was Story of Seasons. If XSEED could get one on the Switch, I think it would be amazing! A lot of people are split on what way is the best way to play farming simulators. This is the best of both worlds!
Another game that I've been enjoying a lot since I got my TV sorted Boom Street (Fortune Street in America). For anyone who doesn't know, its a game series that plays like Monopoly, but with stocks and Dragon Quest characters (sometimes others too). Seems like a random game choice but it would be perfect for the Switch. If a friend wanted to play, you just hand them a Joy Con. The game only requires a few buttons each anyway. It also had a decent sized community before the Wii's online was shut down (rest in peace online). This would bring the online presences back into the global fanbase for this game. Maybe this time, they could add Zelda characters instead of Mario ones. It wa=ould be awesome!
Lastly, I want Mother 3 because why not? Thank you for reading and what do you all want to see at E3 this year? I'm curious to hear what other people want!

Super Smash Bros: Who will stay and who will go (part 2)
In a previous post, I gave my opinion on who I think will stay and who I think will go. today I will continue to go over the rest of the roster and also think about what other characters could be added.
Starfox series
As long as Fox and Falco aren't too similar like usual and Fox no longer sounds like Scrappy from Scooby Doo, I'm fine with whatever. Krystal is a huge favorite that I see having potential but other than that, I'm clueless about the Starfox series.
Pokemon series
The most likely option is that Nintendo will remove one Pokemon (besides Pikachu and Jigglypuff) and replace them with another, probably a Pokemon from Sun/Moon or even one of the Pokemon game coming out on the Switch. Lastly, we need a Detective Pikachu alternate costume!
Other First Party characters
I put the rest of these in the one category (besides the third party characters) because I figured that a series with only one or two characters shouldn't have its own paragraph. Because of this I think all of them have a good chance of making it back in, which include Villager, Game and Watch, Little Mac, Duck Hunt, ROB, Captain Falcon, Olimar, Wii Fit Trainer and Shulk. I see Wii Fit Trainer being the most likely to get cut simly because of the lack of popularity, even if her move set is unique. I could see them adding another character from the Xenoblade Chronicles series, probably one of the blades from the sequel.
Third Party characters
This is a very weird playing field since they could come and go at any point. I feel like Sonic and Bayonetta are safe since Sonic is the only one that's stuck around the whole time and Bayonetta is basically Nintendo's adopted child at this point. I see Mega Man being the one most likely to be cut because although he is a fan favourite, Capcon is a bit awkward with the Switch and that could affect the situation. Ryu and Cloud are kinda in the middle in that nothing is currently going on that will get them cut, but it could still happen.
What new characters could happen?
We already have the Inklings, which was kinda obvious in the first place. The net game series I see them touching on is Arms. Sadly that will probably mean either Spring Man or Ribbon Girl since they are on pretty much all the promotion for the game. I've already mentioned anyone logical I could think of at previous points.
I think that this time, Indie characters will get a chance to become a fighter on the roster. Nintendo really like their collaboration with indie developers and I can see them wanting to show that in Super Smash Bros. Possibilities that I see happening include;

Super Smash Bros: Who will stay and who will go? (part 1)
A few weeks ago in the most recent Nintendo Direct, the next Smash Bros was announced along with playable Inklings. So that got me thinking. Who will return? Who will leave? Who else could be added. I'm going to talk about that today!
Personally I think Nintendo could go about this in one of two ways. They would either;
So who do I think will stay or go?
Of course the original 12 are safe, which are Mario, DK, Link Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Luigi, Jigglypuff, Captain Falcon and Ness. But no one else is safe really. Now I will go through the remaining characters by seines and see what they will probably do with it character wise.
Mario Series and Co
I don't think we need anymore Mario characters. I see Peach, Bowser and Diddy Kong coming back. I can also see Dr Mario come back (I can hear the angry mob) if they made Mario's move set incorporates Cappy, that way Mario's original moveset would still be in the game. Otherwise I don't want Dr Mario. I think they will choose between Rosalina or Bowser Jr. They were both cool for one game but we really do only need one or the other.
Legend of Zelda series
When was the last time they added a Zelda character that wasn't another version of Link? Melee. A new Zelda character is long overdue. The most obvious character I can think of is Impa (one of the younger versions but it would be funny watching an old lady kick someone's butt). Similar to my Mario and Dr Mario idea, I think if Link got a whole new move set that's themed around Breath of the Wild, then I wouldn't mind Toon Link coming back. Otherwise, please don't because we don't need more clones. One thing though, will Zelda and Shiek be one character again or not?
Metroid series
Maybe Metroid Prime 4 will show off a Smash worthy character to represent the series in this game. I personally don't care if Ridley makes it in or not but it would be the bigget troll if he was added and then played like rubbish. Like Zelda and Shiek, will the two versions of Samus be the same character or not?
Kid Icarus series
We need more Kid Icarus characters. Viridi or Hades have a good shot but other than that I don't know. We will of course have Pit return and more than likely have Palutena come back too.
Fire Emblem series
As good looking as most of them are, we don't need more of them. I would even say that either Robin or Corrin will get cut. We don't need two avatar characters that are half sword, half something else. If they could somehow make Marth and Ike different, that would be awesome.
Kirby series
I currently like the lineup of Kirby characters and can't think of who else to add (unless a giant emotional tree counts). Although Banadna Waddle Dee would make sense since he is the player 4 out of the current crew, he wouldn't be that interesting. What would he even do for a Final Smash? Other Kirby characters only show up once or twice in the series.
I will continue with my predictions again soon. Thanks for reading and what do you think will happen?
Personally I think Nintendo could go about this in one of two ways. They would either;
- Bring back the whole roster from Smash 4 and just add additional characters, for the sake of saving resources on Smash amiibo (current roster below)
- It will work like previous games and we will just lose some characters
So who do I think will stay or go?
Of course the original 12 are safe, which are Mario, DK, Link Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Luigi, Jigglypuff, Captain Falcon and Ness. But no one else is safe really. Now I will go through the remaining characters by seines and see what they will probably do with it character wise.

Squishy's thoughts on Luigi's Balloon World
A while back (yes, I'm very late) Nintendo released an update to Super Mario Odyssey that adds some filters and costumes. The biggest feature is the addition of Luigi's Balloon World!
Its great to see Luigi in a bow tie again!
You can't use the checkpoints to travel around the kingdom while playing the game. Thank goodness, since balloons would be pretty much impossible to find.
You can only hide one balloon per kingdom though, so Luigi is everywhere...
After I hid and found a few balloons, I messed around with the new filters (I can't afford any new outfits). I don't mess around with snapshot modes in games that often, but its very rare to see them get updates like this.
Overall, I think the mode is really fun. Some more advanced players are cruel with balloon placement since they can do fancy jumps, but other than that its a balanced mode. Thank you for reading and feel free to search for some of my balloons!

So the aim of the game is to hide a balloon in every kingdom well enough for other players not to find them. It also works both ways, where you try to find and pop other people's balloons.

Squishy's thoughts on the March 2018 Nintendo Direct
So Nintendo's Direct has come and gone, with only eye memes remaining (we'll get on that later). So here are my thoughts on what was shown.
First of all I was so off in my predictions. The one time I try to be realistic and up to date on current announcements, Nintendo throws it all out the window and gives us one of the better directs. Since there's so much stuff I'll have to lay this out a little differently. So here goes...
Nintendo 3DS
Warioware Gold
Oh my goodness! I've been calling this for years and it finally happened. I really enjoy the Warioware series and look forward to it releasing on July 27th.
Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story remake
This is one of my favourite RPGs of all time (besides Earthbound) so I welcome this. I'm so excited to hear this game's awesome soundtrack remastered (especially that final boss theme). The only bad thing is that they skipped Partners in Time. I know that was the weakest game in the Mario and Luigi series, but this could have been an opportunity to improve it (especially for America who basically got "Hard Mode"). It will be coming in 2019.
Luigi's Mansion remake
I remember wanting a Super Mario Sunshine remake for 3DS, but this is even better! I've wanted to try this game for ages but Gamecube games are really expensive right now (saw the original Animal Crossing for nearly £300, its that crazy). I'm excited to play this later in the year. It would be awesome if it came out near Halloween (maybe even with that figure they had on Club Nintendo?)
Nintendo Switch
The Third Party Stuff
All these third party games that are coming is just awesome. Usually I only play Nintendo for the first party stuff, but all this stuff is really tempting. We are getting titles like;
It looks like a good game and I know that Nintendowarned told us that it would be on the Direct, but all that stuff about the tennis techniques dragged on for so long. It made a good bathroom break though. I'm glad that they are finally using more unique characters though (Chain Chomp was a nice, random touch that was a lot better than Pink Gold Peach). It will be coming out on June 22nd.
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker Switch/3DS
I'm so glad that I didn't buy the Wii U version like I planned to, especially with the additional Super Mario Odyssey levels that they added. Plus the multiplayer is a nice touch! I look forward to that on July 13th
SUPER SMASH BROS SWITCH
While watching that teaser trailer, my first thought were "why are they porting the original Splatoon after announcing so much for the sequel?" Then BAM! Inkling girl had that symbol in her eye and I started screaming and crying like a kid. I am so excited and its coming out THIS YEAR! Yaaay!
So there you have it. I thought this was a really cool Direct overall. I feel like there won't be much to offer at E3 now though. Maybe they'll have Smash playable by then, but that's a stretch. Either way, thank you for reading and Miitopia will return next Sunday!
All these third party games that are coming is just awesome. Usually I only play Nintendo for the first party stuff, but all this stuff is really tempting. We are getting titles like;
- Okami HD (Summer 2018)
- Undertale (Eventually...)
- Crash Bandicoot Triligy (July 10th)
- South Park Fractured But Whole (April 24th)
It looks like a good game and I know that Nintendo

Squishy's March 2018 Direct Prediction
Nintendo have announced the first Nintendo Direct of 2018 (besides a Mini I think). It will be tomorrow at 10pm for the UK and the following times for other major places.
It will be half an hour long and we will see something related to Mario Tennis Aces. But besides that, here's what I think could show up.
The Direct will probably be the only one before E3 (besides maybe game specific ones or a mini). This means that we probably won't see anything huge (like a new main Animal Crossing game sadly, I'll get that out of the way now). I think we can also say that a Smash port or a new game will probably be announced at E3 as well.
I'm positive that they will show something Bayonetta related. I also think that they will show off some of that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 update that's coming out. Maybe even some of the Hyrule Warriors Switch port. I thinks that's the biggest they will go but it is half an hour long after all, so we never know.
This will be a stretch but now would be the perfect time to release virtual console for the Switch, especially with the My Nintendo Gold points update that just came out. NES games would be practically free!
As for 3DS, since its kinda on its last legs (I guess), I feel like we will get one more big-ish game then maybe some 3rd party titles. So those were my thoughts, what do you think will be shown at the Direct? Feel free to leave any thoughts in the comments. Thank you for reading and I'll give my opinion on the Direct on Sunday!

February blog schedule and other things!
Hello everyone! The last few months have been all over the place but my life is no longer bonkers and I can finally get back into the swing of things.
At first I considered changing the blog schedule but I decided to keep it Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. If you follow me on Twitter, you may know that I might not be able to post tomorrow because of 3DS downloading speeds and stuff. Which leads me to my next point.
The game I’m downloading is Miitopia (finally!). If/when it actually downloads I will be making that my Sunday game (and maybe some Wednesdays too, it is an RPG after all and they can be quite long). I did play the demo June 2017 and was wondering, should I start from the beginning or go from where the demo left off? I will probably have a Twitter poll to answer that question.
Lastly if you have any Miis that you would find funny for the background (I already have “main story” Miis in mind), feel free to tweet or message me QR codes. Thank you for reading and see you all next time!

Animal Crossing Switch Concept: Character creation ideas
I've had a few ideas for how the next Animal Crossing game could play out. I mentioned events and other nifty ideas in the past. Today I'm going to go over what I think would be an ideal start to a new game in Animal Crossing Switch.
It will obviously start off in some sort of transport with either Rover or Kapp'n (99% sure it will be Rover). Of course it would start with asking for your character and town name along with choosing the map (that better come back), but the one thing I want to change is how characters are customized/randomized.
First of all, skin colour should be a choice similar to how Happy Home Designer and Pocket Camp did it. Secondly I think that Rover's questions that determine your appearance should stay, but be optional. It could work like this;
Rover: So -Town Name- is a nice place. Do you mind if I ask why your moving to this town?
Not at all! (This means that Rover will ask you questions about you and the town. This will determine what you look like)
Uhhh yes... (Rover will apologies for being nosey, then quickly change the topic and compliment your appearance, from there you will be sent to a character customization screen where you can choose from a selection of starter hair colours, styles, eyes and a shirt (there would be 8 of each)
This way, there is still that element of traditional surprise for those who enjoy it, but you can deny it if you care about your virtual appearance. Also having only a few options at the beginning keeps it balanced. Thanks for reading and if anyone wants to hear any other ideas on other Animal Crossing related mechanics, feel free to mention them.

Squishy's thoughts on Nintendo Labo
So under an hour ago, Nintendo announced their newest... thing that will be targeted at kids or kids at heart. That thing was Nintendo Labo, which will be cardboard "machines" that work with your Nintendo Switch in a variety of different ways. So without further ado lets look into this.
The nearly three minute trailer showed off a variety of different ways to play like;
Hopefully the cardboard is good quality. I wouldn't want to be the person having their cardboard camera destroyed in the rain. At least it can be coloured in to look pretty though.
Personally, I'm not gonna bother with it unless it somehow ends up in my household (I have my brother in mind as I'm typing this). To me, its a mixture of cool, stupid, "why?" and meme material. It releases on the 27th April which isn't bad.
Thank you for reading and what do you think about Labo? Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments!
