Animal Crossing Switch Concept: Character creation ideas

I've had a few ideas for how the next Animal Crossing game could play out. I mentioned events and other nifty ideas in the past. Today I'm going to go over what I think would be an ideal start to a new game in Animal Crossing Switch.

It will obviously start off in some sort of transport with either Rover or Kapp'n (99% sure it will be Rover). Of course it would start with asking for your character and town name along with choosing the map (that better come back), but the one thing I want to change is how characters are customized/randomized.

First of all, skin colour should be a choice similar to how Happy Home Designer and Pocket Camp did it. Secondly I think that Rover's questions that determine your appearance should stay, but be optional. It could work like this;

Rover: So -Town Name- is a nice place. Do you mind if I ask why your moving to this town?

Not at all! (This means that Rover will ask you questions about you and the town. This will determine what you look like)
Uhhh yes... (Rover will apologies for being nosey, then quickly change the topic and compliment your appearance, from there you will be sent to a character customization screen where you can choose from a selection of starter hair colours, styles, eyes and a shirt (there would be 8 of each)

This way, there is still that element of traditional surprise for those who enjoy it, but you can deny it if you care about your virtual appearance. Also having only a few options at the beginning keeps it balanced. Thanks for reading and if anyone wants to hear any other ideas on other Animal Crossing related mechanics, feel free to mention them.

New Leaf: Chips, Snow and Nao(mi)

Yesterday I played again for the first time in a while. Some kitchen items that I ordered the last time I played arrived so I got started on my kitchen. Here is what it looks like so far.

I needed a better flooring and some more furniture so I went to the Nookling store to find something. All they had were duplicates (two fake plants and two rococo pieces).

I returned to my house and added some things that I had lying around in storage. I'll replace the regal table at some point but other than that my house looks good.

Stitches reminded me of my birthday wish from September. Why do animals do this to me?

He also mentioned that a new house plot is in town. Of course its in the way of a path I forgo to add AGAIN!

The name reminds me of a goat too. Great...

I was speaking to Adele Jeremiah today and apparently, fish and chips taste good in snow. As long as the snow isn't yellow i'm okay with that.

Thanks for reading and have a good week!

New Leaf: Hello from the froggy side

On Wednesday I noticed that the leaves under the snow are now green. I love when they are that shade.

I decided to spend today redecorating my house when Adele Jeremiah interrupted me

"I was wondering if after all these years, you'd like to meet"

Of course I didn't let him in and continued decorating.

Here is what most of my rooms look like so far. The dining room!

Living room

Kid's bedroom

Another bedroom

I'm turning the basement into a garage and the right room into a kitchen (no bathroom since there's no using the loo in Animal Crossing). The garage is still a work in progress though.

Thank you for reading and have a good weekend!

Squishy's thoughts on Nintendo Labo

So under an hour ago, Nintendo announced their newest... thing that will be targeted at kids or kids at heart. That thing was Nintendo Labo, which will be cardboard "machines" that work with your Nintendo Switch in a variety of different ways. So without further ado lets look into this.

The nearly three minute trailer showed off a variety of different ways to play like;

  • Piano
  • Robot
  • Fishing pole
  • Camera
  • Steering wheel
There are more but those are the main ones that are in my head at the moment. Like most cardboard contraptions these days, the user must build it themselves. I like this element as it could be a good way to show children a basic idea on how certain things are built. For example, the fishing pole looked pretty good for only being made of cardboard. I can see this being used for educational purposes or as a craft project at home.

Hopefully the cardboard is good quality. I wouldn't want to be the person having their cardboard camera destroyed in the rain. At least it can be coloured in to look pretty though.

Personally, I'm not gonna bother with it unless it somehow ends up in my household (I have my brother in mind as I'm typing this). To me, its a mixture of cool, stupid, "why?" and meme material. It releases on the 27th April which isn't bad.

Thank you for reading and what do you think about Labo? Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments!

New Leaf: String Man!

I got my money and car in the mail today (is there a way for me to say that in real life without lying?)

The Fishing Tourney is coming up this Saturday. I'll actually be busy then so I might not be able to participate.

Bonbon was in the campsite today. I'm not a huge fan of Bonbon (the bunny characters are a hit or miss for me).

Tammy started talking about a superhero line. Please tell me that the hero is called String Man.

She just wanted a stringfish. I agreed just to make her happy but didn't bother.

Rolf said that he likes racing trains. Funnily enough, I like to do that when I'm near the train tracks and one passes by.

Since I played a little earlier than usual (and Nook Homes is spirit free) I paid off a loan. I went for the back room. hat will be fully upgraded tomorrow.

Thank you for reading and have a good week!

New Leaf: Orange exchange!

Earlier today Rolf asked me to get him an orange so I gave him the one Flurry gifted me the other day.

He gave me a tangerine chair. So I got promoted from having an edible chair to a sit-able one!

Filbert's has moved away and left some orange cosmos behind

My Resetti model came in the mail so I put him in the main room to scare away my villagers.

I used my second amiibo to summon Tom Nook!

The real question is... what came first the sweater vest or the RV?

The inside was random but very Tom Nook.

He mentioned that he should start exercising.

Good because we don't need this happening again...

Before I left the RV, I bought the pile of money and his car.

Like I expected, Tom Nook isn't at work. Its weird that Lyle isn't either.

Of course Wisp couldn't work his software. He's a ghost, not a virus!

Thank you for reading and have a good weekend!

New Leaf: Regretti

It was evening by the time I played today. I love seeing Rolf's head popping out from behind the river every time I play.

So I crossed the water and spoke to him. He just talked about the Streetpass thing in ReTail that no one seems to notice.

Filbert mentioned moving again. I continued to let him go. He really likes comparing his departure with food though.

There was an igloo in town and Peggy was in it. To me she looks the most human out of all the villagers.

Where's Angelica and Eliza though?

Jeremiah wanted me to go catch him an ocean fish. I declined but he thinks its because I suck at fishing.

With my new mannequin I put my Santa outfit up for easy changing, next to my Shammrock Day and summer outfits.

I recently bought myself some Animal Crossing amiibo for Christmas so I scanned in our favourite mole, Resetti!

Straight after Flurry came over. I just took her orange then waited for her to leave

I then left to check out Reseti's camper. The outside actually looks adorable!

The inside... not so much.

If you talk to him enough, he tells you exactly how to enter the Reset Centre. What a guy!

One of the items that could be bought from his camper is the Resetti model from Groundhog Day. This is an American exclusive holiday, and the even will happen soon so I bought it.

One thing I was curious about was if Wisp would show up instead of Resetti if I quit without saving. So I saved (to keep the camper there), went back on then left the game. Sadly Resetti showed up still...

He changed his clothes fast!

I slightly regretti my decision though since in European versions of New Leaf (and Lets Go To The City) if you reset 50 times, Resetti actually deletes your town. What does he have against us? Well I don't know how many times I reset since I don't document them all.

Thank you for reading and have a good week!
