Beth: Visitors, movers, meteors and fishing

Last week, Jeff came over to briefly watch the meteor shower with me! Bunnie joined us for a bit.

Shrunk taught me the shyness emotion! Out of all of them, I like this one maybe the best...I'm not quite sure why.

The other day, Shep arrived in my campsite. He's not one of my favourite villagers, but I like him a lot as one of my friend Naomi's favourites. So when he quickly asked to move in, I couldn't resist.

My brother and I visited each others towns while we were traveling. I love his hipster look ;)

Lily asked me to play hide and seek, and I agreed. Everyone was pretty easy to find - especially Lily!

Diva gave me some great news! She's decided to leave town! Maybe she picked up on the vibes I was trying to send out to her ;) Now she just needs to realise I'm not going to be visiting her anytime soon.

I met a brand new villager...who's house is just as ugly as the villager. Of course...he must be here to replace Diva!

I also saw Shep's house plot.

I quickly popped over to Forest last night, and Jeff gave me a Super Star. Today, Lily asked me for some furniture - so I passed it on to her!

Today, I noticed a reminder for Halloween on Monday. I must check I have some candy and masks!

I had another camper...and I had Alfonso! I'm not too keen on him, so I left him.

Francine asked me for an ocean fish, which took me longer than I expected to catch! I ended up donating a few before giving her one.

I talked to Sheldon, and thought he was discussing Cobb. Instead, he meant Shep!

Poor Shep must have heard him, and decided to hide his face when I went to pay him a visit.

Last but not least, I finally changed my eye colour! This kind of matches my eyes in real life, so I'll probably keep them like this.

Squishy: Shovel Speech

My second streetlight is finished. Symmetry has returned to Cosmic.

Again we had a celebration.

Jeremiah was acting... odd. If you want to be a bird for Hallloween there are plenty of feathered creatures in town that will help you.

Tonight in Cosmic I saw my streetlights at night. Pretty!

I started a PWP for a custom design signed and paid it off right away.

Katrina was here but I missed her.

There was a notice on the board for Halloween. I'll be playing since I have nothing else to do (except revision but its Halloween so I'll let it slide)

Kid Cat pinged me and said that he wanted to move. I really like Kid Cat but he is on my path so I let him go. If he mentions moving again though I will be stopping him.

My Eastern area of town was crowded tonight.

Everyone was complaining about the lack of events coming up. Even though Halloween is in a week.

Out of all the events Pietro could have forgotten.

I had a chat with Flurry on the beach about shovels. What?

Or dirt in this case

Thank you for reading and have a good week.

Squishy: Party of One

My Streetlight is complete so we had a ceremony for it. Its such a random reason to celebrate.

Pietro wanted some perfect fruit and asked me to get it for him when there is a perfect orange right above his head. Lazy clown.

So I turned around and got it for him.

Not really

I added another streetlight on the other side of the path and paid it off at once.

Katrina was in town so I got my fortune told.

I stopped playing for a few hours but I went back online this evening. Pietro said how he likes being in people's memories.

People's nightmares more like.

I opened my gate at 8pm for some Halloween fun, but sadly no one showed up. Maybe I should have been more specific when choosing a time.

Thank you for reading and have a good weekend.

Nintendo Switch Reveal

Hi everyone! Welcome to this random/discussion post, where we'll be talking about the brand new, not yet released Nintendo Switch!
As I'm sure most of you know, there have been rumors for months about the NX, and we were finally promised a trailer yesterday by Nintendo.

I managed to watch the trailer minutes after it went online, and wow I'm impressed! We'll start by watching the trailer, then analyzing the video and finishing off with my thoughts.

The analysis

The first thing noticeable about the Nintendo Switch is the home console feature. A small black console sits next to a TV. The game being played looks like Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which indicates it's release for the console.
As the video continues, it shows the controller for the home console being taken apart and made into a handheld screen with a circle pad and a few classic buttons from the DS. An obvious difference from earlier home consoles is the lack of a flip-screen - so far the Switch handheld version looks more like the PlayStation Portable.
A cartridge is shown being placed into the Switch here, which could allow for backwards compatibility with the Wii U and DS/3DS. Handy stands are presented flipping out of the back of the Switch, and the controls are then removed from around the screen.
So, simply, the screen will be able to stand alone while you use it's detachable controls to play. In the video, our 'character' arrives home and places the screen/handheld back into the home console, which kind of acts like a dock. I may be wrong, but I'm getting the impression this is how it could be charged.
He then uses a classic-style controller to play, which is different to any of the standard Wii (U) controllers we've seen yet. In fact, it appears to be similar to the Wii U Pro controller. One thing I noticed was the assortment of controllers and ways to play. As far as I can tell, the two sides of the screen controller are also available for multiplayer games, and can allow two people to play (kind of by splitting the controller in half).
But Nintendo aren't finished yet! They also reveal the ingenious idea of the screen being attached to the back of a car seat, allowing entertainment on long journeys.

The facts

  • IGN has confirmed Amiibo support for the Switch, in questioning with Nintendo.
  • Multiple controllers will be included with the console
  • Even though Skyrim is shown in the Switch trailer, Bethesda have not confirmed any specific titles - even though they are apparently happy to have 'the opportunity to collaborate with Nintendo.'

My thoughts

Honestly, I'm already loving the idea. I saw rumors months ago that it would be a home and handheld console combined, and I have to say it sounded like a dream.
Overall, I think this could be a great move on Nintendo's part. It's obvious they haven't had the best couple of years with sales, especially with the Wii U sales being so low. But the uniqueness and portability of the Switch are definitely appealing so far, and I truly believe if this is done right...it could bring Nintendo back.
NOTE: The Switch has an Amazon listing, and is available to set a notification for when it will be available to pre-order.

Thanks for reading. What are your thoughts on the NX?

Squishy: No nuts for Blaire

Tonight in town Jeremiah was asking about my wish. Then he went to tell me about his wish.

I went to the Town Hall to start a new PWP. I love how Isabelle wears a jacket during the colder months.

Blaire wanted to move on the 24th of this month. I like Blaire so I convinced her to stay.

If your looking for nuts try Wild World.

I went for a simple street light and paid it of in one go.

I was ready to leave when I (finally) remembered to fix the path in my Earthbound area.

I left the random change that Jeff had in his pocket and ended the session.

Thank you for reading and just a quick reminder that I will be opening my gate on Saturday.

Beth: Chevre Visits

Chevre asked me the other day if she could come to see my house. Unfortunately, it was a booked meeting, but this time I did book a time and let her come over.

I found a notice on my board from the day before my birthday. Obviously Jeff expected me to look here before my mailbox, but I actually did it the right way round :P

I spotted Redd in town today, so I made sure to purchase the real painting using Jeff's guide!

Today, I noticed a meteor shower on the notice board.

I wished on a few stars but I'll probably head on again later.

Thanks for reading! See you Thursday.

Squishy: Halloween session!

In town Phineas awarded me with the Village Gardener Badge!

But sadly today is a bad luck day. Plop!

Kid Cat tried selling me a grape stripe shirt. I have enough of them.

Groucho was asking about my relationship with Pietro

Noooo Groucho. Don't be fooled by his sheepish appearance.

Before I go I will be opening my gate for Halloween! It will be open on the 22nd sometime between 8-9pm and stay open depending on who shows up. Feel free to wear a costume (you might get a prize). Thanks for reading and I'll see you all next time.
