Squishy: Bugs and Bells

This evening I got a chance to see my illuminated tree at night.

There was a notice about the first fireworks display coming up next Sunday. Yes!

I might open my gate on one of the nights. I'm pretty much available all four nights (unless I say) so I'll put a poll on Twitter to find out when the most people are available.

Ruby the bunny was staying in my campsite. I used to love her when I was younger. Now her eyes kind of creep me out.

I decided to spent some time catching some bugs on the island. I even managed to catch four golden stags!

 

After selling my catches I ended up with roughly 300,000 bells. Awesome!

 

I could easily pay off 75% of a room in my house but I decided to save it so that I could get interest tomorrow.

 

Every little helps!

 

Since there is only a month left of summer I decided to go catch some tarantulas and scorpions. Scorpions in particular since its been bugging me that I didn't catch one last year.

 

I couldn't find any but Iggly did have a flea. 

 

One thing I noticed is that the villagers were walking around with their nets out. Uhhh Flurry? You do know what your doing right?

 

As I continued hunting I got a nice photo of this busy scene.

After a failed search I had the ceremony for the tree. Might as well end the night on a happy note.

Beth: ACNL: Rainy Acorn

I forgot to mention last time - me and Squish are changing schedule! My Tuesday and Thursday posts fell exactly on the days I work, so now I'm changing to Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Squish is Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

 I spotted a very big flower today :P Just kidding, it's Bunnie hiding!

Once again, she mentioned not seeing me for a while. Ahh, I'm sorry! Maybe I'll actually be able to find time to play this summer before I head back to college?

Maybe Saharah comes from somewhere that's actually warm, instead of rainy like England & Acorn?

Harvey, however, was learning how to dance in the rain :P As long as he stays dry under that little hat!

I made sure to check out my house before I saved for the day. It's not ideal, but it's okay for now. Hopefully I'll be able to work on it more soon!

Squishy: First legit pic!

I haven't played in a few days and forgot about my most recent PWP. It looks good here.

 

Rosie told me about a dream visitor called Gracie.

I saw a lost item on the ground. I usually ignore them because they can be annoying but I felt like doing this one.

 

After asking Rosie and Flurry about it, I discovered that it was Jeremiah's mitten.

 

In July?

 

I glad that I did that because I got his picture out of it!

This is the first villager pic I got the hard way.

I went to put it in one of my museum rooms and tried giving it to Blathers. I'm such a bird brain.

Luckily I didn't get Jeremiah's pic during April Fool's Day so I don't even have to deal with a double.

I decided to make my house in the Fairy-tale theme, starting with the roof.

One more thing. Beth and I are changing up the days we post a bit. It will now be as follows;

Squishy - Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

Beth - Wednesday, Friday and Sunday

Beth: Splatoon 2 First Impressions

Today marks a week since the Splatoon 2 release, and I'm very happy to say my first impressions are good! I haven't played much story mode, but I'm already spending a lot of fun time online.

The first part of the game is this little announcement - made to look almost like a TV show. It shows the online battle, ranked battle and league battle stages before you enter the actual game. This is kind of cool and useful, but I wish you could skip it. Seeing it multiple times a day is a little...much, and I wish it was optional!

Before I even entered the game, I did some 'warming up' in a trial. I like that they included this before the game even started - it meant I could go straight into online mode without worry.

The center of Splatoon 2 is the Inkopolis Square, where you can travel to different sections of the square and shops. The shops include places to buy equipment, clothing, accessories and shoes. Other places lead you to online play, local play and even a single player story mode!

 

The single player story is kind of like a 3D platformer, and although I haven't played much yet, it looks cool.

At the moment, my favourite part of the game so far is online Turf Wars! I could play this for hours, and I already have :P I'm not sure if I'm going to enjoy the story mode even half as much, but Turf Wars is worth the whole game at the moment!

Squishy: Time traveling hamster

Yesterday Flurry attempted to move out on the 4th of this month. Are you a time traveling hamster?

 

It meant next month but either way I told her to stay.

I noticed that the leaves on the town tree have gotten darker. Its also grown a little bit.

I fully paid off the illuminated tree project. It will be ready for my next entry.

Nothing much else was going on in town so I spent it watering flowers.

HHD: Designing the Slopes

I headed on to HHD for the first time in a while and had a look at the different designs people wanted.

One of the options was a stew-making setup. Who even comes up with these? Who looks at a bear cub and thinks 'stew'?

Chrissy had a slightly less imaginative theme, so I went back to my original client and decided on the ski slope!

Of course, the only natural location for this was the top of a snowy mountain.

I focused the ski slope design on the outside with a little cabin as the house.

Inside the cabin, I made a little shop and relaxing area with a fireplace and cabin/wooden themed furniture and decor.

Squishy: Chasing birds

Last Friday, Flo told me that I haven't spoken to her in a month. Oops!

 

Rosie then asked me if I'm picky about my best friends. It was laid out as a yes or no answer but its not that simple. I just said yes and Rosie said she's the same.

 

When I went to visit Flurry, I was surprised that Jeremiah was also there.

Jeremiah mentioned Portia's feet. How do villagers find out this stuff?

I did a little bug catching and sold them on Saturday. You can tell that I didn't do much.

I decided to build an illuminati illuminated tree.

Camofrog said that he hasn't eaten since he woke up.

He just wanted a cherry. He gave me a water cooler as a reward. That's cool!

 

I saw on Twitter that one of my friends managed to get a photo of a bird at the campground. I wanted to do it too but after a few attempts it was a massive flap flop.

 

I even tried using the beans to lure more birds in but to no avail.
