Merry Squishmas!

Hello everyone and Merry Christmas! I hope everyone has an amazing holiday season, even if you don't celebrate. This Squishmas has been fun. Its weird that this is the second one and I somehow didn't miss a day either time, especially with my track record over the last few months when it comes to posting.

I have a present! I originally wasn't going to post a Warioware DIY cover today since its Christmas. But there was a cover that I wanted ready for the 12 days of Squishmas that I was having trouble with. If you've seen on Twitter, you'll know that I did finish it and will be releasing it today. You can see a cover of Homecoming Hijinx from Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze here!

With that saying, I will not be posting any blog posts or Warioware DIY videos for the rest of the year. I will be back on New Year's Day! Thank you for reading, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Squishmas 2018 Day 12 - Toy Day

Its that time of the year again! TOY DAY! I can already see Jinglein the background, so at least finding him is easy!

But first, I changed into my Santa costume.

Jingle loved it and asked for my assistance. Of course!

My first stop was Jeremiah, who wished for a white umbrella. The lacy parasol was the perfect fit!

Next is Kidd who asked for the black umbrella, so he got a bat one!

Turns out that Muffy did ask for pink food, so she ended up with a peach.

I always thought the peaches in Animal Crossing looked like butts. Please don't do this Muffy...

Rosie wanted a white toy. Bowling pins it is. That one was a strike!

Flurry just asked for clothes. She got the only clothes in my sack, a purple tie-dye shirt

S my height is what you think of? You're going on the naughty list next year!

Rory was next and got a small spotlight and Pompom got a grapefruit table. Both extremely random gifts!

Stitches got the writing desk he wanted. His response could have been happier though...

Iggly was the last on my lift. He got a candy jar! I'd be perfectly fine with having a jar of sweets for Christmas.

I returned to Jingle and somehow managed to 100% Toy Day for once! Yay!

I got my festive wreath and ended my day. Thank you for reading! Have a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and an amazing New Year!

Squishmas 2018 Day 11 - 2018 look back

Its that time of year where I will be looking at the New Years resolutions I came up with last year and see if I have completed them. You can find last year's resolutions here! So without further ado, let's get started!

Look back at 2018
2018 has been an awesome year! We finally got an announement for Animal Crossing Switch, I finished high school and I started taking my Youtube channel a little more seriously. Now to look at last year's resolutions and my progress. Most of them are from last year's blog post, but I also added some of the more real life ones from my Twitter account!

Going through my gaming backlog - I think I made my gaming backlog worse since then. Since I won an eshop voucher over the summer, I spent it on older games and have only touched one. Why i chose to buy two Mario RPGs and Sonic Mania I don't know. I really need to work on this backlog before I forget.

Try some new games/series - I finally played a Sims games that isn't a rubbish DS version of it. I really enjoyed it! Miitopia was another one that I wasn't sure about until I actually played it. I'm still going through it on the blog. There's also Sonic Mania (even if I can't make it past Chemical Plant Zone). I do still have some PC games that I want to try, like the two Portal games. Plus Final Fantasy is coming to the Switch next year, so I actually have a decent chance of getting to play it.

Grow more as a blogger - This is one of those things that I can't really see for myself. On the one hand, my content has improved a bit and I've been writing more in advance. But then again, I have missed a lot of posting days without much of a valid reason. It honestly bothers me more than it probably does for everyone else, but that could just be because I'm too hard on myself lol.

Try some other things besides blogging - I did this! In the form of a YouTube channel! Sure I didn't properly get into it until around July-August, but I've gotten myself a good little following. I appriate every view, comment, like and subscriber that comes by. I work really hard on my Warioware covers and the other random stuff that pops up every now and then (even the memes). My streaming flopped, but I will hopefully give that another go behind the scenes when I have time.

Be more social - Haha... I've gotten worse. There's not much chance of that improving, but it will be a resolution for next year anyway. Nope!

So there you have it! That is what I have (and haven't) achieved this year. I really look forward to 2019 and what it has to offer. Thank you for reading and I'll see you all here tomorrow for Toy Day!

Squishmas 2018 Day 10 - A very Zelda Christmas

This is a weird cover. Listen to it here, and then I'll explain my mindset with it.

So a few weeks back I was just messing around with Warioware DIY and making some basic covers when I thought to myself "You know, the Fairy Fountain theme would go well with the Sugar Plum Fairy theme". So I got to work and made that monstrosity. Then I just added a mini mashup of Silent Night and Zelda's Lullaby, just for fun. It was an interesting cover that I think might suck lol.

Thanks for reading and have a good day!

Squishmas 2018 Day 8 - Short version and most popular posts this year

Today is when I'm going to release the shorter version of "Here Comes a Thought". You can find that here! But just posting to talk about a slight repeat would be kind of boring and a waste of a Squishmas day, So I'm also gonna look back at three of my most popular posts this year.

Comparing Tomodachi Life food prices to real life
This is somehow my most popular blog post. I don't know why and how Tomodachi Life food prices are so popular, but this is a series that I really need to revive! You can find that post here!

Squishy's thoughts on Virtual Reality (from someone with a visual impairment)
This is also a weird one, but for different reasons. A little over a year ago, I had the opportunity to try VR as part of a school trip. The catch is that I wear glasses and can only really see through one eye, so my experience was a little unique. You can read the post here and see what I thought!

Squishmas 3 (2017): Dreaming of Navidad
Yep, a Squishmas post from last year made it at number 3! I remember this town being amazing. I haven't visit it since last year, but I enjoyed it fondly. You can read about this dream town right here!

So there you had it! Those are my top thee posts on the blog. Its nice to have a look back at what I've done and everyone's input on it. Thank you for reading and have a good day!

Squishmas 2018 Day 7 - New Year's resolutions

Its a little under two weeks before 2018 is over and we move into 2019. This year has been great! We've had awesome games, some decent memes and some other cool stuff. Today, I am going to be going over my New Year's Resolutions for 2019. Unlike last year, I will also be adding some real life based ones rather than just gaming related ones. So lets do this!

Be more social
This will probably be the one New Year's Resolution that I put on my list every year until the end of time and never be able to complete. But I'm still going to try and strive for it just in case it magically improves. Not much hope for it, let's wait and see!

Be more consistent with the blog
Ever since I started posting videos on my Youtube channel, I have tried my best ti not miss a post date and have made substitutions whenever I really couldn't post that day. Now I have 60 something Warioware videos out and have managed to post at least 3 per week for 3-4 months. I'm proud of that. However, I'm kind of disappointed with how I go about with the blog. It used to be that if I couldn't post, I had a valid reason for it and let others know. Now I miss days consistently because I'm deep in thought or just didn't think about it, but I left it with no explanation. One particular time I remember is when I just randomly stopped posting for a month straight for practically no reason. I want to start being more consistent with my blog like I do with my YouTube channel.

Remember to do Animal Crossing events
If I got £5 for every time I said I would do a Fishing Tourney and ended up not doing it, I would be able to pay off my student loans. I eed to nip this problem in the bud now, especially before the Switch game comes out because I don't want to miss anything in that game.

Finish my Miitopia series
I'm enjoying the game and plan on blogging about it until I finish the main story. But wow it feels like its dragging on. I want to finish it this year so that I can play something different.

Reach 750 subscribers on YouTube by the end of 2019
This might be a stretch, but I wa originally hoping to reach 100 subscribers by the end of the year. Somehow, I managed to reach over 150. Thank you everyone who helped me reach that goal! 750 might seem a little extreme, but I'm feeling lucky and feel like its somewhat possible.

Learn to cook
Yes, I'm a grown woman who can only use a microwave and a toaster. Even taking hot things out of the oven freaks me out. I want to be able to cook some of my favourite easy dishes by the end of the year. I don't have to know how to cook everything from scratch. I just want to be more confident in the kitchen and not feel like I'm going to burn the house down. I just wanna make bacon or sausage sandwiches without needing a more experienced adult's help.

So those are my new year's resolutions for 2019. Thank you for reading and have a good day!

Squishmas 2018 Day 6 - Here Comes a Thought (full)

For my third (and fourth because you know...) cover. I will be releasing a Steven Universe cover. Here Comes a Thought! You can find the cover here!

Yeah, its not really Christmas or winter related, but December can really be a stressful time and I think a cover like this can really help when your mind is just all over the place. Plus, I'm excited for the new Steven Universe episodes coming up lol.

Thank you reading and have a good holiday seaso, but think about yourselves too!

Squishmas 2018 Dy 5 - Dreaming of Maplerow

Its day 5 of Squishmas and today I'm going on another dream journey. This time, to Maplerow!

They had a cute girls' winter outfit laid out for dreamers to wear. Don't worry guys, there's also an outfit on the left side of the tree for you!

There were also a bunch of different tools to play with like a party popper, some beans and even a fizzy drink, which is impossible for Europeans to get.

The first villager is Andi, who apparently doesn't like where she's working.

She works at a cute little cafe.

Each room has a different cafe theme. This one is my favourite!

Table for one please!

The second person, Abbie, is quite the shopaholic!

Her house was themed around a shopping centre. The toy store looks so colourful!

And the arcade looks awesome!

The fizzy drink even makes a fizz noise when you take a sip!

I came across a little playground!

Nearby was the third house with Alex.

At first I thought her house was an art gallery and was confused by what she was sayng, but I discovered that it was actually a school! Here's the staff room!

And here are two of the classrooms. These are really well done!

The town is very pretty, with the falling snow and the light up PWPs.

The fourth and finl house looked to just be a normal house. With a living room and bedroom.

And a room that looks like it belongs to a college student.

Here are a few more shots of outside!

Overall, I found the town to look really pretty. It has the magic of winter mixed in with the realities of life. Thank you for reading and have a good day!

Squishmas 2018 Day 4 - Stardew Valley Winter Events

A year ago, I had a Stardew Valley series on the blog, which ended quickly due to not having an SD card for images. One ting I realised though is that I nevver did the witer events in the game. I ended the series in the beginning of winter. So I'm going to go back and finished what I started once and for all!

The first Festival is the Festival of Ice! Sounds nice, but it involves fishing and ummm...

I have been getting better on another save file, but its still been a while. I'll have a go at it though!

I only caught four fish. Plus Willy won. It feels like cheating to have a fisherman participate...

The next event was recently added to the Switch version of the game (so I had to play an extra year to do it...). Its the Night Market!

Its three nights with the same markets. Different townspeople will show up each night with different things to say.

I got free coffee! Perfect for a cold winter's evening.

They had a few stalls set up and a way t teleport somewhere. Cool!

There was a show with a singing mermaid. Pretty!

I drank my coffee during the show ad this happened. Does this happen naturally or did I trigger something?

It just gets crazier and crazier. I can see why Jas wasn't allowed to watch it now.

There was also a fishing mini game. I had enough fishing for one winter.

The last event was the Feast of the Winter Star. It basically Secret Santa. I got Haley!

I gave her a diamond, just because I can. She didn't seem very excited though. How rude!

Alex got me a pink cake though, which really makes up for it!

My favourite event would have to be the new Night Market one. There's so much to do and see, even if three days feels like too much. Thank you for reading and have a good day!
