Squishy's thoughts on Stardew Valley's Switch develop

As you know one of the things that I was looking forward to was Stardew Valley coming to the Wii U. However the Wii U version was cancelled and development was moved to the Nintendo Switch. Here are my thoughts on the matter.

In a business situation I can understand their decision to shift from the Wii U to the Switch. The Wii U is dying and the Switch is the next big thing for Nintendo. Plus another portable farming game. Yay!

But on a personal level it kind of sucks, especially for students in high school, college or people with a low income jobs who were looking forward to a good priced Harvest Moon like experience but can't afford to get the new system.

I could simply get it for PC (and might have to) but I've always been a console person and I'm not used to mouse and keyboard controls.

How do you feel about the matter? New Leaf will resume next time. Thanks for reading.

Beth: Preparing for Christmas

Yesterday, I put up the little Christmas stuff I have. At the moment I have a wreath and a turkey! I was going to put the turkey out for thanksgiving, but I completely forgot.
Shep asked if he could move out, so I time traveled forward a couple of days to make space for a new villager! More on that later.

I also visited my lovely friend Amy's town of Babville via dream address! She's had a great idea with the town - of moving in all of the villagers from the new Sanrio cards (and Inkwell)!

She made it to help people decide if they wanted to purchase Sanrio cards, and it made up my mind. I ordered some last night and they should arrive by next week :D

If you'd like to visit this town, the code is 7C00-0200-2D96. You can find out more here!

This is the first time I've been to a dream town since the update, and it was my first chance to see how they block off the campsite! It's actually a little ugly compared to how I imagined it :P

I visited Jeff last night and saw snow for the first time in Forest!

I love how Jeff has redesigned his main room! It looks awesome in black and red.

It was interesting to see what the Wii U & 3DS say when you try and play them in other towns. I don't think playing Desert Island Escape would take up a whole afternoon :P

I then headed over on my main character to collect Julian. He seemed so surprised when I
asked him to move to Acorn that he even opened his eyes! Maybe he wanted to see what his new mayor would look like? :P

But it didn't take much persuasion to get him to agree to moving! He was originally meant to go to Merka, but as she wasn't around, Jeff asked me if I'd like him. He's actually one of the characters I've always liked in NL - so I was happy to accept!

After selling some perfect apples in Forest, I finally managed to pay off the museum renovation.

I also added some new mush furniture from Arrested. Surprisingly though, I still haven't completed it - and I'm not sure that they're even still available in town.

Today, I noticed the trees may have have darkened yet again! I'm not 100% sure as I play at several times of day, but it looks different.

I attended the ceremony for the museum gift shop. Honestly, I probably won't use it at all. But at least I can get The Roost now!

I am happy I've got Celeste though - she's always been one of my favourite characters (even when I played Wild World as a kid) and I'm happy to have her around.

Today, I saw the house plot for Julian! I'm really happy with it, he hasn't destroyed anything I wanted to keep.

Before heading off, I went up to the campsite and bought a succulent plant! It's one of my favourite items from HHD, so I'm happy to have it in NL.

Thanks for reading! I'll be back on Thursday with another post.

Squishy: Eye on the tiles

Today I got a letter from Nintendo which contained this Puzzle League flooring. This would look cool in a disco themed room.

Harvey loves showing me stuff...

No Harvey! I'm not interested.

I got a new badge. I'm not even aiming to complete the catalogue but okay then.

And I finally got around to changing my eye colour at Shampoodle. Lovely!

Thank you for reading and have a good week.

Squishy: Too many Pikmin

Yesterday at TIY I got the same fortune twice. Really? There is a 1 in 60 chance of that happening and it still happens?

While today one of my initiatives was to buy something from Tom Nook. All of the stuff wasn't my style so I bough a randon door.

Iggly was wearing one of my Christmas jumpers. It actually suits him.

Yet he's still cold

Sorry this entry was a bit short. I didn't play on Friday and nothing interesting happened. Hopefully something good happens tomorrow. Thank you for reading and have a good day.

Beth: Harvest Festival

On Thursday, I went on too late to play the Thanksgiving event,  so I cheated by time traveling back to the morning!

It's been a couple of years since I played the Harvest Festival, so I thought I'd have a little go.

But I did give up after I got the fruit basket on the first dish - it was getting late in real time!

I also noticed it was Shep's birthday - but I forgot to go and see him!

Back at home, I noticed my new pavement.

I missed playing on Friday, but I did yesterday. The first thing I noticed was the new brown color of the trees. I definitely prefer the deep red they were before!

I also saw the town tree has shed it's leaves! Christmas is coming :)

I completed a few initiatives, including some easy ones like this one.

I also saw the holly is finally coming to life! I love how the trees and bushes change with season.

I then closed my DS for a while, but when I went back on, I had a snow flurry! It's the first one of the year, and although it didn't stick, I did get excited.

While diving for an initiative, I spotted Gulliver. I mixed up two countries and got the answer wrong - but at least I'll get a chocolate coin.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you had a great Thanksgiving if you celebrated!

Squishy: Goodbye Super T&T

Yesterday I ordered some of the giant items form the catalogue. One of them being this teacup ride. The music really suits this time of year but can get really annoying.

Tommy told me that they are closing the store for remodelling. Finally!

I will be getting the store on Thanksgiving.

Leif said that he will be closing too.

Shrunk spent a lot of play coins on fortune cookies. I don't blame him since the update added new items.

I was chopping down some trees and got stung by bees. Ouch!

I also started playing Puzzle League. Its where you flip panels to make lines of three or more panels. Its really addictive even if I do stink at it.

Today the two stores under construction.

Groucho gave me some good news. He's moving out of Cosmic!

I really don't like him so I'm happy for a change.

Thank you for reading and for everyone in America Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow. For everyone else have a good day.

Beth: Murdered by Puzzle League

Yesterday, I received a carpet for completing a few levels of puzzle league! I probably won't keep it forever, but it's okay for now.

I also saw a notice for the Harvest Festival! I don't personally celebrate Thanksgiving, but I'm looking forward to it :)

Later in the day, Squishy briefly came over to pick up a spare in game 3DS I had.

 RIP me too :P

I completed an initiative and finally bought a new pavement for outside my house!

While I was on Main Street, I headed up to the Happy Home Showcase. While I was there, Digby told me visitors can now explore my HHS too!

I headed up to Sally's house for a scheduled visit at 5. I also bought her iron frame because it really didn't fit into her house.

I closed my DS for around an hour, but when I finally left Sally still told me I was going home quickly! I noticed this on the island too, even if I've stayed there overnight, Leilani still seems shocked when you head home.

I picked up a stool I had customised to match my house from Cyrus.

I also headed to the island tonight to do some diving and pick up some flowers for Acorn!

Thanks for reading :)
